We are seeking a highly motivated, creative, and experienced Protein Biochemist and/or Structural Biologist to join a growing Structural Biology team at an early stage drug discovery company. This multidisciplinary group aims to drive structure-based design by elucidating the interactions of our molecules bound to their target protein. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Actively contribute to the strategic direction and lab capabilities of the structural biology group
  • Establish purification protocols and purify recombinant proteins from source cells
  • Communicate research priority, progress, and results with project teams
  • Contribute to written and oral presentations related to research findings
  • Collaborate in a cross-functional team across diverse therapeutic areas.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Ph.D. (or equivalent industry experience) in biochemistry, biophysics, biochemistry, or related fields
  • Technical experience in protein expression and purification of proteins is required.
  • A strong track record of scientific innovation
  • Innovative team player with high energy for a fast-paced environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Familiarity with crystal handling and data collection at synchrotron facilities is a plus
  • Experience in cryo-EM sample preparation protocols including negative staining and sample vitrification is a plus
  • The successful candidate must be highly organized, motivated, able to work independently, and have strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
